Proactive Business Intelligence
After conducting advanced research on the trends affecting Information Worker and their ongoing challenges, Panorama discovered several key findings:
- BI has evolved primarily in the back end, but advances have not necessarily impacted the end user experience. Information workers are still struggling to access personalized metrics and insights that are relevant to their business..
- While all BI vendors claim to make BI actionable, actions and processes are disconnected from BI tools, leaving users to decide independently about the most appropriate corrective action.
- Business processes are still manual, requiring high levels of user intervention.
- Because corporate data exists in multiple business systems, solutions must be able to work natively across any data source to deliver true impact to organizations.
Based on these findings, Panorama developed its Proactive BI strategy and created a roadmap for its NovaView suite to enable information workers to:
- Focus on the relevant – ensuring information workers get key metrics and insights as opposed to just reports
- Take structured action – enabling information workers to take direct action in the form of a workflow or business process from within the BI applications in a context sensitive way
- Automate the routine – integrating BI and business processes to ensure full automation of corporate processes
